Técnica de Fluidos strengthens its environmental commitment with solar investments in Barcelona and Madrid

At TDF, sustainability is not just a statement—it’s a responsibility we actively take on. In line with our long-standing environmental commitment, we’ve taken significant steps to reduce our carbon footprint and promote cleaner energy consumption. Among the most impactful actions are the investments we’ve made in photovoltaic solar energy at two of our main facilities in Spain: Barcelona and, more recently, Madrid.

A Step Forward in Barcelona

Years ago, our headquarters in Barcelona took a decisive step toward energy sustainability by installing a photovoltaic solar system. This early initiative marked the beginning of a strategic journey to make our facilities more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible. The results have been evident: energy savings, greater awareness among employees, and a growing culture of sustainability that now permeates every aspect of our work.

New Solar Panels in Madrid

Building on the success of the Barcelona project, we recently completed the installation of a 40.02 kWp solar self-consumption system at our Técnica de Fluidos office in Madrid (Ciempozuelos). This new solar setup will enable us to:

  • Produce more than 55,000 kWh/year of clean, renewable energy

  • Cover approximately 46% of our annual energy needs with solar power

  • Significantly reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact

  • Make further progress in our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency

This investment reflects not only our focus on environmental responsibility, but also our broader strategy of operating more efficiently and reducing our dependence on traditional energy sources.

Small Actions, Big Impact

At TDF, we believe that real change begins with small, deliberate actions. While the installation of solar panels is a major step, we also pay close attention to daily practices. We actively encourage our teams to use energy responsibly, switch off lights and equipment when not in use, reduce paper consumption, and remain mindful of their environmental impact.

These actions—although simple—are essential to creating a more sustainable working environment. We are proud of the engagement and awareness shown by our teams, and we continue to foster a culture where sustainability is part of our everyday decisions.

Sustainability Beyond Technology

Investing in clean energy is just one part of our sustainability journey. We also work with partners and suppliers who share our values, selecting leading brands that are committed to innovation, quality, and environmental responsibility. Our approach is holistic: from the way we design projects to how we deliver and support them, we aim to reduce waste, extend the life of equipment, and find solutions that are both efficient and respectful of the planet.

Looking Ahead

These solar installations are milestones on a much larger path. As energy costs rise and environmental concerns intensify, we see it as our duty to lead by example—not only by investing in new technologies, but also by showing how sustainable practices can be integrated into industrial operations in a practical, effective way.

With the new solar panels in Madrid and the established system in Barcelona, we are better equipped to face the challenges of the future. We’re not only reducing our energy bills—we’re creating a more responsible, resilient business.

At TDF, we remain committed to doing our part—step by step, panel by panel, and decision by decision.
